Who I Am: From Edinburgh to the Main Event

I'm Joe Hendry, a professional wrestler and musician from Edinburgh, Scotland. The line on most of my merch is the title of my entrance theme: I Believe in Joe Hendry. Here is the short version of how I got here.

Where am I from?

I was born in Edinburgh on 1 May 1988. I studied at Heriot-Watt University and finished a master's degree in business and marketing.

How did I start wrestling?

Before pro wrestling I was a judo black belt. In 2014 I switched to freestyle wrestling, and it went further than I expected:

• 2017: British Senior freestyle title.
• 2018: British Senior Greco-Roman gold.
• 2018: I represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games.

When did I go pro?

I made my professional debut on 12 October 2013, after training at the Source Wrestling School. Since then I have wrestled for ICW, Discovery Wrestling, WCPW, Ring of Honor, Impact and TNA, and now WWE. At Discovery Wrestling I held the Y Division Championship for a record 1,280 days.

Where does the music come in?

I started making music at 15 and sang in a band called Lost in Audio. My entrance theme, I Believe in Joe Hendry, came out in 2019, and my debut album, Beyond Belief, came out on 5 October 2026.

What does that mean for the merch?

Every design in the shop comes from that story: the I Believe in Joe Hendry lettering, the blue-bracketed JH monogram and We Believe. Each one comes on tees, long sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies, with a size chart on every product page.
